Erm, we meant to say “1000 Facebook ‘likes’” but we got a little excited while making this note. ^_^
We’re so excited that over a thousand people are interested in POC Zine Project and want to stay informed on our progress. We take our mission of making zines by people of color easy to find, share and distribute seriously and this tour is just one of many things in the works …
THANK YOU to everyone who believes in what we’re doing (especially Barnard Zine Library and For the Birds Collective) and we can’t wait to meet folks and allies during the first-ever POC Zine Project tour (get date info here).
For those wondering why we picked those specific cities and aren’t coming to yours, trust us - we wanted to do a cross-country tour … but that ‘ish is expensive and most of us have day jobs and family obligations … Next time we’ll travel farther!
Thank you for understanding that we’re doing our best! <3
We’ll be kicking off an indiegogo campaign in the coming weeks to help cover the cost of a van rental, gas, booking bands and other misc. costs.
We want to bring something unique to each city, so we’re working our networks like crazy. If you want to volunteer at an event and help promote, contact us. Also it would kind of blow our minds if some poc filmmakers provided us with some short films to screen at a few of our events. WE CAN HAZ YR FILMZ PLZ.
If you want to donate now to the tour, you can do so via PayPal. Thanks y’all. #manifestingabundance
