True Life Zine Issue 3 written by Duel Vandals at TrueLifeZine
This issue is a special edition freight train graff zine. Check out the local graffiti, the sleeping giants and some rustbelt culture of upstate New York.
True Life Zine’s authors are anonymous but they shared this with POC Zine Project:
I am Puerto Rican and so is my husband. We both run this zine. But, we would like to remain anonymous. They can learn about us at truelifezine.storenvy.com. We are currently updating the sites. Some info about us though: We are from upstate new york and are photographers of the local urban and rustbelt culture in western new york. We specialize in graffiti and street art.
Anonymity is a critical option for some zinesters who write about and document activities that challenge the status quo. This is one of many reasons why zines, as a medium of materiality, continue to be popular.
Thanks for your submission, Duel Vandals!
Editor’s Note: A “Community Submission” post results from a POC submitting their own zine to be featured on the POC Zine Project Tumblr. If you would like to share your zine with the POC Zine Project community, here’s how to do it.
When you submit, feel free to add some background, a description of your work and art and your mission statement. If you just send us the name of your zine, we’ll simply link back to a source for purchasing it and use the language you already have on your site.
As long as the zine was created/co-created by a person of color, we will always share Community Submissions. Enjoy!
