Statement from Osa:

I made a fanzine called Shotgun Seamstress about black punk/queer/feminist stuff from 2006-2011. I’ll be doing a reading at the event, I’ll talk about my experience touring with the POC Zine Project last fall and I’ll have zines and books for sale (all proceeds will go to POC Zine Project!)

If you want to support the #RaceRiotTour but aren’t in NOLA, you can send funds through PayPal: http://bit.ly/SHdmyh

ALL funds go to cover the following:

1) tour vehicle rental cost ($6,500 for 6 weeks on the road housing rotating lineup of 20+ tour members)

2) housing & food for tour members for 6 weeks (all meals, beverages & snacks)

3) tour vehicle gas for 6 weeks (expensive!)

4) reimbursement for some touring members for travel costs

All touring members are volunteers who are sacrificing a lot, including their own income/day job obligations, to be on this tour.

We are a grassroots nonprofit with no operating budget. The only reason we are able to do a national tour is with the support of POCZP volunteers, academic partners and community members like you who appreciate our efforts and contribute what they can.

Thank you.

If you want to organize a fundraiser in your town in solidarity with POCZP between now and end of 2013, email poczineproject@gmail.com with “FUNDRAISER” as the subject line and we’ll send you pertinent info. <3

If everyone in our community gave $10, we would more than meet our fundraising goal for 2013. If you have it to spare, we appreciate your support. All funds go to our 2013 tour, the Legacy Series and the poverty zine series.
